The Lassonde Entrepreneur Institute (lassonde.utah.edu) is a multidisciplinary student organization that provides the space, resources, and funding to help student ideas and businesses come to life. They are becoming well known right now for their world-renowned innovation campus experience, Lassonde Studios. Check out what the New York Times wrote about Lassonde Studios right here. (And I'm one of the 400 students lucky enough to live there.)
I started working for Lassonde at the beginning of my freshman year at the University of Utah as a photographer to take portraits of Lassonde students for their content marketing. I quickly became involved in the entrepreneurship process myself and co-founded Siren Creative Company. After that, I continued to work with the Lassonde Entrepreneur Institute, becoming the head photographer and videographer for multiple print publications, advertising campaigns, and documentary projects.
Now, I continue to do that work and have also become the founding student leader of the Art Entrepreneurship program, which seeks to provide student experiences on the intersection of art and industry. We want to teach artists how to be entrepreneurs and teach entrepreneurs what they can learn from the creative process.
