Hi there, Instrument.
Thanks for stopping by.
Pretty cool telegram, huh?
I had no idea telegrams were even still available until recently and decided it would be a great idea to send you a very outdated mode of communication in order to redirect back to this site, but hey it worked!
My name is Parker Gibbons, I'm a student at the University of Utah studying multi-disciplinary design. I also work as an art director and the director of production at AdThing, the advertising agency staffed by students and run by pros. And I work with the Lassonde Entrepreneur Institute as a media and branding consultant for student startups.
But enough about my background. I want to talk about Instrument. Your work has inspired me for years. Now is really the time to approach business and industry from a creative standpoint with design thinking and I honestly believe that you do this better than almost any other company out there.
What I really appreciate is your company culture and everything you do foster creativity in every interaction. One of the reasons I am studying multi-disciplinary design is to learn how to take universal design principles out of conventional contexts like UX and apply them to everyday contexts, like office design. I remember reading some of your articles on Medium last year (interviews with JD Hooge, and breakdowns of the space) after moving into your new office and being so excited to think that there are agencies like you who still care about creativity and good design for their own sake, rather than just becoming another corporate agency. The other thing I really appreciate is that although you are a design-first company, you have a top-notch internal production team and understand the importance of integrating all the different aspects of a campaign into one badass agency.
So look, I know you haven't been advertising any internships this year, but I had to give it a shot and reach out. I think my background in media production could be really valuable for your team to have another person around excited and ready to produce good content, and you could get a little karma boost knowing that you're helping this naive kid learn a thing or two about working in the real world.
And I can guarantee that if you give me a chance to work with your team, I MIGHT make some people laugh with my incredibly self-deprecating humor and a pun or two, but I will absolutely take every project you throw at me as seriously as my Netflix binge sessions. (And that's saying something.)
Peep my Resume.
